About me

Hello and welcome to my little page here online. Well.., maybe you're a little curious as to who is behind this website? Well, my name is Per-Gunnar and lives in Västerås, Sweden.

I like the feeling of freedom, being close to nature and to live simply. Yet, I am good at complicate things. I have come to the conclusion that I find it very difficult to take orders and that it makes me feel unfree. I have a great desire to control my own life a little more while still helping and serving others.

I am in the middle of terminating several previous interests in order to focus more on what I think is important. I like philosophy and like to read and write. I read lots of books (non-fiction), an interest that has grown in recent years. I nowadays like simple interests, as these require fewer gadgets.
I make my living primarily on wage labor as an automation engineer, electrical design and programming.. It's not what I find most fun in life, but it pays the bills. I've worked with computers in some form during these last 15-20 years, but these last 7 years I have gone more toward manufacturing and automation. I also speculate a little on the exchange, but it has gone so bad so it's probably not for me.
I have many dreams and if I summarize these dreams it involves that I must become with less gadgets. And this is something I realized only a couple of years ago.

I also recently discovered that I belong to the third of the global population who is introverted. This means that I need my own time. I like to socialize with other people but I also need to be alone a lot.
I like to exercise, everything from weight lifting to cycling. I think health is very important and therefore exercise a lot, plus I think its fun!

I like the entrepreneurial spirit and are inspired by people who makes an impression and achieve something lasting (well, something good of course). I look up to people who dare to invest and take reasonable risks. People who work hard to succeed at something that is. I have a whole bunch of role models that I follow with interest. I have not yet accomplished so much, but hope to be able to contribute something in the future.

I am also an aspiring minimalist. Gear-wise, I ran into the wall a while ago and have since started to clear/remove more and more clutter to achieve my long term goals; I have a long way to go yet. I've realized how little influence gadgets have for my well-being, however, I feel/realize that freedom, and being able to choose how I spend my time is far more important.

To continuously learn and educate oneself is important to me, and I really like to learn new things. Academic I have "struggled" to succeeded with dual Master of Science (in Electronics and System Engineering). Today, I probably would have chosen something different. Since then I have become more interested in human psychology, personal development and leadership. But without formal training it can be difficult to sell yourself into a job in today's competitive job market.

What else? I like animals and nature, sunbathing and live pretty simply. Voluntary simplicity is also a new approach that I find exiting, and I hope to maybe get a dog again, sometime in the future. Dogs are probably my favorite animal (I use to have a small puddle (I am allergic to other dogs who let go of their hair (all over tha place)), but he (Rasmus) has left us because of old age.

Love: I have not found "my" soul mate that I want to live the rest of my life with, but thrive quite well in life anyway!
Yes, that’s all for know. Thank you for taking the time to read! :)
